Originally from Tehran, Iran, Dorrin moved to Canada in 2022 with a strong passion for contributing to positive societal change.
Dorrin studied Non-profit and Social Sector Management at Seneca College, building on her previous academic foundation with an L.L.B. degree from her home country.
Along the way, Dorrin gained valuable experience as a Gender intern at the United Nations Populations Fund (UNFPA), an experience that deeply shaped her professionally. Building on this foundation, Dorrin had the opportunity to work for three years as a Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant at the UNFPA, contributing to the organization’s mission of promoting sexual and reproductive health and rights. Dorrin strongly believes that Monitoring and Evaluation results in better transparency and accountability for our programs, providing a crucial framework for continuous improvement and impactful decision-making.
Volunteering at the 2023 Toronto Pride Parade was a remarkable experience for Dorrin ever since moving to Canada. It reinforced her belief in the importance of inclusivity and celebrating diverse identities. Dorrin’s professional interests center around LGBTQ+ rights, gender studies, and human rights. She always try to advocate for those who don’t have the means to demand their rights, both in her professional and personal pursuits.
