Yazan has 10 years of experience in program management and communications. Prior to arriving in Canada in 2017, he worked with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in the context of supporting the Syrian civil society and displaced people. He worked with several nonprofits in Canada including Ads Up Canada and OCASI. He obtained his masters degree in professional communications from Toronto Metropolitan University in 2020. He is also a private sponsor and an activist in supporting LGBTQI+ newcomers in Toronto.
