The Time Is Always Now

LGBTQI+ rights are under attack everywhere.

The Time Is Always Now to respond as a community.

The Time Is Always Now The Time Is Always Now

2025 will be a pivotal year for LGBTQI+ rights around the world.

The fight to protect the safety and dignity of at-risk LGBTQI+ refugees and asylum seekers is intensifying. Fundamental human rights are in jeopardy, both domestically and internationally, and as a community, we need to come together to fight back.

And our fight continues on every front. In the United States, LGBTQI+ refugees, asylees, and asylum seekers are increasingly vulnerable under a new administration. An upcoming federal election in Canada is an opportunity for the incoming government to protect and strengthen important pathways to safety. LGBTQI+ and immigrant rights are rolling back globally; in Chad, Kenya, Uganda, Russia, Afghanistan, and other countries around the world, LGBTQI+ communities have faced violent crackdowns in recent years. Worldwide, anti-immigrant and anti-LGBTQI+ sentiments are on the rise, and it is our responsibility to counter harmful narratives impacting our communities

James Baldwin reminds us: “There is never a time in the future in which we will work out our salvation. The challenge is in the moment; the time is always now.” This is that moment — a turning point for global LGBTQI+ liberation.
